Reduced Parking on Queen Street

We appreciate your patience as the construction progresses along the west side of Queen. The new sidewalks, light standards, and signal lights are looking great!

Please remember that there is reduced parking on Queen St. for reasons of safety and ease of progressing with the improvements. Many businesses have opted to open their back doors to their customers as an alternate entrance.

Sidewalks are substantially completed on the west side of Queen (Crawford to Canal). Similarly, new signal installation is approaching completion. A temporary fence has been erected around the site to prevent pedestrians from continuing the serious and dangerous activity of crossing mid-block.

This week should see the continuation of work at the signals – new ducts will be bored to house the signal cable infrastructure as the existing had met their useful lifecycle. Cables will be run, infrastructure will continue to be put in place.

We are seeing the commencement of work along the west side of Queen (Canal to Prospect). At necessary times, the west legs of the intersection of Queen / Canal and Queen / Prospect will need to be closed (as was done at Richardson and Crawford).

BUSINESSES WILL REMAIN OPEN AND ACCESS IS PROVIDED ALONG FRONTAGE OF BUILDINGS.
