TILBURY & DISTRICT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES

BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS NOMINEES

In response to feedback from our membership, other local businesses, and attendees at last year’s event, the Tilbury & District Chamber of Commerce has made some positive changes for this year’s Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year Ceremony. “The community talked and we listened,” Melina Marchand, President Tilbury & District Chamber of Commerce. This year has eight award categories; the eight categories not only offer an opportunity for all business types to be recognized, but also showcases the business diversity of our community. This year the Chamber simplified the nomination process with an easy to follow form accompanied with a description of each category. With over 50 nominations received across all categories, the new process was a success! A new judging procedure included more than 12 undisclosed judges who utilized award specific evaluation forms with 10 categories of which each business was evaluated on a 1-10 scale. “An effort was made by the committee to make nominating and judging an efficient, streamlined process in hopes that more community members and businesses would get involved….it worked! We are very happy with the community’s support and efforts in contributing to this event,” Melina Marchand.

Who will be the “Best of the Best!”? Winners from each category will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year Ceremony. Winners will be presented with an award throughout the course of the evening which includes a full-course dinner and cash bar.

Come and celebrate with this year’s nominees and guests at the Business Excellence Awards and Citizen of the Year Ceremony.  Join us October 24 at the Tilbury Golf Club, 20425 County Road 46, Tilbury, ON, doors open at 6:00 p.m., dinner and award ceremony begin at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are available for $30 and can be purchased at one of six convenient locations: The Wine Store and More, Imagine That!, National Bank, Tilbury Library, Tilbury Times, or the Tilbury Municipal Centre.
